How to get the most out of these sheets
Short and daily
Ten to fifteen minutes every day beats an hour once a week. Consistency is what builds speed.
Time it
Write the time taken at the top. Repeating the same sheet next week and beating that time is hugely motivating.
Mark it together
Go through the answer key with your child. Sort mistakes into careless, method, or didn't know — each needs a different fix.
Praise the effort
“You stuck with that” builds resilience. “You're so clever” makes children afraid of getting things wrong.
What these worksheets cover
Abacus worksheets. Abacus practice is about bead movement becoming automatic. The Level 1 addition and subtraction sheets give your child enough repetition for the finger patterns to stop needing thought, which is the point at which mental visualisation — Anzan — becomes possible. The bead value chart is the reference to keep beside the abacus while learning.
Vedic Maths worksheets. Each sheet takes one sutra — multiplying by 11, squaring numbers ending in 5, or the Nikhilam method for numbers near 100 — explains it in a few lines, then drills it. Vedic Maths only pays off when a shortcut becomes automatic, and that needs written practice rather than watching a video.
Mental maths and Olympiad sheets. The daily drill is deliberately timed, because calculation under mild time pressure is what transfers to exams. The Olympiad set is puzzle-style rather than curriculum-style — good preparation for competitions and a useful test of whether your child enjoys that kind of thinking.
Rubik's Cube sheet. The full beginner layer-by-layer method with notation and all seven algorithms on a single printable page, so your child is not scrolling a phone mid-solve.
Frequently asked questions
Are these worksheets really free?
Yes. Every sheet on this page is completely free to download and print. There is no sign-up, no login and no email required — just click and the PDF opens.
Do the worksheets include answers?
Yes. Every practice sheet has a full answer key on the last page, so parents can mark the work without solving it themselves. The bead chart and the Rubik's Cube sheet are reference sheets, so they have no answers.
What age are the abacus worksheets for?
The Level 1 abacus addition and subtraction sheets suit ages 5 to 8, which is when most children begin abacus. The bead value chart works at any level. The Vedic Maths sheets are for ages 9 and above, and the mental maths drill suits ages 8 to 14.
Can I use these worksheets if my child has never done abacus?
The bead value chart is the place to start — it shows how each digit is formed on the rods. After that the Level 1 addition sheet is designed for complete beginners. A free demo class will teach the correct finger technique, which is hard to pick up from paper alone.
How often should my child do a worksheet?
Ten to fifteen minutes a day beats an hour once a week. Working memory and calculation speed respond to frequency rather than volume, so short daily practice is what builds the skill.
Can I print these for my school or tuition class?
Yes, you are welcome to print them for your own students at home, in school or in a tuition class. Please leave the footer credit on the sheet.
What is a Vedic Maths worksheet?
It is a practice sheet built around one Vedic Maths sutra — a calculation shortcut. Each sheet explains the method in two or three lines, then gives you 24 to 36 questions to drill it until it becomes automatic.
Want the method behind the worksheets?
Worksheets give your child practice. A teacher gives them technique — the correct finger movements, the visualisation stage, and the right next step for their level.
